Update
This is an update to the planned maintenance that was initially scheduled for Sunday 11th Jan. The outage planned for 9 pm to 9.30 pm has now been cancelled. Below maintenance is still going ahead as planned.
Essential maintenance planned for identity proving service on Sunday 11th Jan 2026 from 6:30 pm till 11:59 pm.
Please note that services will remain available throughout most of the maintenance window however there will be an outage of up to 30 mins within the maintenance window where services could be unavailable.
Impact to the users is detailed as below. Users on the GOV.UK One Login app trying with a Passport/Biometric Residence Permit will be able to prove their identity. Users trying via web-based identity checks will not be able to prove their identities. Users on the GOV.UK One Login app trying with a Driving Licence will not be able to prove their identity. Users will not be able to reuse an existing identity if it was issued more than 6 months ago.
